Privacy Policy
This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to the category, difficulty and mode settings you pick on this site, and what this site collects (or doesn't collect) about your visit. Short version: every word and every printable list is generated entirely in your browser, nothing you select is ever sent to a server, and there is no account, login or tracking cookie on this site.
What happens to your category, difficulty and mode choices
The Pictionary word generator picks words and builds printable lists entirely inside your browser, using JavaScript. Your selected category, difficulty, mode (Play now / Print a list), timer settings and generated word list are never sent to a server, never logged, and never stored in any database on this site. There is no upload button and no form anywhere on this site that transmits your selections anywhere.
This is a direct consequence of how the site is built: it is a static site with no backend capable of receiving, processing or storing what you pick. Even the printable word list is assembled by your own browser, not rendered on a server and sent back to you.
Theme preference and your last settings (saved on your device only)
The only thing this site saves is your light/dark theme preference and your most recent category/difficulty/mode selection, stored in your browser's localStorage so the page can remember them the next time you visit. This does not identify you, is never sent to any server, and stays only on the device you used. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
The feedback button
Below the generator there is an optional feedback link. Submitting feedback sends an anonymous note (no email, no account, no IP address, no tracking cookie) to this site's backend, purely so it can be read and acted on.
Visit metrics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit the page and roughly where they came from (for example, a Google search versus a direct link). This tool was chosen specifically because it does not use cookies and does not build an individual profile of each visitor: metrics are collected in aggregate at Cloudflare's network edge. It is not possible to identify a specific visitor, or what they selected in the generator, from these metrics.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising tracking cookies or third-party profiling cookies. The only local storage used is the localStorage mentioned above, for theme preference and your last settings, which is technically not a cookie and is not automatically sent to any server with every request, unlike a traditional cookie.
Hosting and infrastructure
This site is hosted on Cloudflare's network, which processes the technical requests needed to deliver the page to your browser (source IP address, browser type, request time), the same way any hosting provider does. That technical infrastructure data falls under Cloudflare's own privacy policy as the network operator, and is not accessed, exported or combined by this site to identify visitors individually.
What this site does not do
To be explicit rather than vague: there is no user account system, no login, no advertising network, no remarketing pixel, and no sale or sharing of visitor data with data brokers. Nothing you generate here is ever saved to a shared or public gallery, and no generated word list is indexed by search engines; it exists only in your own browser tab and, if you choose, on your printed page.
Use by children and in classrooms
This site's Kids category is designed for use by children, typically with a parent, teacher, or another adult present or supervising, for example on a shared classroom screen or a family device. The site does not ask a visitor of any age for a name, email address, birthdate, or any other personal detail, and it has no account system for anyone to sign up for, including children. Because there is no data collection tied to an individual visitor in the first place, there is no separate children's data to handle differently: the same "nothing is collected or sent to a server" description on this page applies equally whether the generator is being used by an adult, a teenager, or a five-year-old on the Kids category.
Your choices and controls
Because almost nothing on this site is collected in the first place, there is very little to manage or delete. The two exceptions are the localStorage entry described above (clearable at any time through your browser's own site-data settings) and an anonymous feedback note, which by design carries no identifying information back to you to look up, correct, or remove. If you have a question this page doesn't answer, or you believe something described here doesn't match what the site actually does, the feedback link on the homepage or the contact address in the footer are the fastest ways to reach us.
Changes to this policy
If the way this site collects or handles data changes in the future, this page will be updated to reflect that change before it takes effect. The commitment is to keep this text matching what the tool actually does, not a generic description copied from elsewhere.
